proof-editing:
Digital, on-screen proofreading, possibly including some editing tasks.
proofreading:
Reading written material and marking any errors.
editing:
Preparing written material by correcting, condensing, or otherwise modifying it.
We can edit or proofread your material, or both. Between the two we have copy-editing. Copy-editing includes proofreading but is more detail-focused than editing, which looks at the ‘big picture’. Editing is the most time-intensive since its scope is much wider. An editor considers the meaning and larger structure of your writing in addition to proofreading and copy-editing tasks.
Please note that we do not provide an essay-writing service nor any service that would facilitate plagiarism. Universities rarely permit students to use services that go beyond professional proofreading.
All services are completed digitally and your documents are returned to you via secure email. Proof-editing is completed using Microsoft Word’s ‘Track Changes’ function, but we can also accommodate PDF and LaTeX if you prefer.
If you’ve got a question, please don’t hesitate to Contact Proofedit42 or send an email.
